TERMS & COMMUNITY AGREEMENT

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 2026

Welcome to Better-Humanity.world. These Terms of Use are the agreement between you and us when you use the platform. We've written them in plain language, because a platform built on transparency should have rules everyone can understand.

By creating an account, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data.

1. Who we are

Better-Humanity.world is a platform in development, currently run by its founder, Robert Rother, based in the Netherlands. You can reach us at [email protected].

2. Who can join

  • You must be 16 or older.
  • One account per person. Because every member has one equal vote, creating multiple accounts, fake accounts or automated accounts is not allowed.
  • The information you give us when registering must be true. You may use a username instead of your real name.

3. Your account

  • Keep your password safe and don't share your account with anyone. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication.
  • You are responsible for what happens through your account.
  • If you think someone else has accessed your account, change your password and let us know right away.

4. Community rules

These rules keep the platform a place where people can learn, decide and act together:

  1. 1
Respect every person. No insults, harassment, hate or discrimination of any kind.
  2. 2
Disagree with evidence. Challenge any idea, including ours, but bring reasons and sources, not attacks.
  3. 3
Peaceful, always. No calls for violence, and no content that promotes harm.
  4. 4
Truth over rumours. Share sources when you share claims, and label opinions as opinions.
  5. 5
No spam or self-promotion without permission.
  6. 6
Protect privacy. Never share anyone's personal information without their consent.
  7. 7
Everything in the open. Important decisions and moderation actions are recorded publicly.

5. What is not allowed

In addition to the rules above, you may not use the platform to:

  • Post anything illegal, or encourage illegal activity.
  • Threaten, stalk, bully or intimidate anyone.
  • Share sexual content, or any content that exploits or endangers children.
  • Impersonate another person or organisation.
  • Create fake or multiple accounts, use bots, or otherwise manipulate grades, votes or discussions.
  • Present untested treatments as an alternative to proven medical care.
  • Upload viruses or harmful code, or try to break into the platform or other people's accounts.
  • Copy content you don't have the right to share.

6. Your content

  • You own what you create. Your posts, suggestions, comments and other contributions remain yours.
  • You give us permission to show it. By posting on the platform, you allow us to display, store and share your content on Better-Humanity.world, so the community can see and use it. This permission is free of charge and ends when you delete the content, except where others have already built on it, such as replies, or where it has become part of anonymous community data, such as grades and votes.
  • You are responsible for what you post. Make sure you have the right to share it, and that it follows these terms.
  • Grades and votes stay anonymous when you delete your account, so that community results remain fair and complete. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Moderation and transparency

If content or behaviour breaks these terms, we may, depending on how serious it is:

  • remove the content,
  • give a warning,
  • temporarily suspend the account, or
  • permanently ban the account, for serious or repeated violations.

We always try to choose the mildest action that solves the problem.

You will be told why. If we take action against your account, we will email you with the reason and the rule that was broken.

Every action is public. Each moderation decision is recorded in our public Transparency log, with the date, the type of action, the rule broken and the reason. Your name is never shown; you are only identified by an anonymous reference.

You can appeal. If you believe a decision was wrong, reply to our email or write to [email protected] within 30 days. We will review it and tell you the outcome. As the platform grows, the community will take a larger role in reviewing appeals.

8. Donations

  • Donations are voluntary gifts to support the building of Better-Humanity.world. You don't receive goods, services or any special rights in return.
  • Who receives them. Until the project's foundation is registered, donations are received by its founder, Robert Rother, and are used only for building and running the platform.
  • Everything is published. How much was raised and how it was spent is shown openly on the platform. Donors can choose to stay anonymous.
  • Secure payment processing. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Refunds. Donations are generally not refundable. If you made a mistake, such as a wrong amount or a double payment, contact us within 14 days and we will put it right.
  • Taxes. Donations are currently not tax-deductible.

9. A platform in development

Better-Humanity.world is being built step by step. Features may change, be added, or be temporarily unavailable, and parts of the platform are clearly marked as demos or concepts. We work hard to keep everything running, but we can't promise the platform will always be available or free of errors.

10. Information on the platform

Content on the platform, including Essential Subjects, is meant to inform, encourage discussion and help people see the bigger picture. It is not professional advice. For decisions about your health, finances or legal matters, always consult a qualified professional. Content written by members reflects their own views, not necessarily ours.

11. Liability

We are not responsible for content posted by members, or for damage caused by using the platform, except where the law does not allow us to limit our liability, for example in cases of intent or gross negligence. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under consumer law.

12. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in your settings. After a 14-day grace period, your personal data is permanently erased, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may end an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, as described in section 7.

13. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will publish the new version on this page with a new date. For significant changes, we will tell you by email or on the platform at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't agree with the new terms, you can delete your account before then.

14. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If a dispute arises, we will first try to solve it together with you. If that doesn't work, the competent court in the Netherlands will decide, unless consumer law gives you the right to go to a court in your own country.

15. Contact
