Your privacy matters to us. Better-Humanity.world is built on transparency, so this policy explains in plain language what personal data we collect, why, who can see it, and what control you have over it. We never sell your data, and we never use it for advertising.
Better-Humanity.world is currently run by its founder, Robert Rother, based in the Netherlands. He is the controller of your personal data, which means he decides how and why it is used, and is responsible for protecting it.
For any question about your data or this policy, contact us at [email protected]. We aim to reply within 30 days.
We collect only what we need to run the platform.

| Contributions | Suggestions, bug reports, and later your grades, comments and votes on the platform | Only if you contribute |

| Messages | Anything you send us by email or contact form | Only if you contact us |
Under the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we may only use your data when we have a legal basis for it. Here is what we use it for, and on which basis:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Creating and running your account, and letting you use the platform | Our agreement with you (the Terms of Use) |
| Sending essential emails, such as email verification and password resets | Our agreement with you |
| Sending updates and news about the platform | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in your settings |
| Processing donations | Our agreement with you, and our legal obligations for financial records |
| Keeping the platform safe: preventing spam, fraud and abuse | Our legitimate interest in protecting the platform and its members |
| Answering your questions | Our legitimate interest in helping you |
We never use your data for advertising, never sell it, and never use it to build profiles for anyone else.
We share your data only with the services we need to run the platform. Each one may use it only to provide its service to us, under a data processing agreement.
| Service | What it does for us | Provider |
|---|---|---|
| Website and database hosting | Runs the website and stores accounts and platform data | A private server (VPS) located in the European Union |
| Sending emails | Sends verification, password-reset and update emails | Google (Gmail) |
| Receiving emails | Delivers the emails you send to [email protected] | Cloudflare |
| Domain and network | Manages our domain name and directs visitors to the website securely | Cloudflare |
| Payments | Processes donations securely | Stripe |
Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy, and we never see your full card details.
We may also share data when the law requires it, for example at the lawful request of a court or authority. We never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Where your data is stored. Your account and platform data are stored on our own server in the European Union. Google, Cloudflare and Stripe are international companies that may process some data, such as email addresses, IP addresses or payment details, outside the EU. They protect it with the safeguards required by EU law, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Our community channels. If you join our Discord or follow us on social media, those platforms handle your data under their own privacy policies.
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Account and profile data | As long as your account exists. When you delete your account, there is a 14-day grace period in which logging in cancels the deletion. After that, your personal data is permanently erased. |
| Contributions | When you delete your account, your contributions, such as grades and suggestions, stay on the platform as anonymous data that can no longer be linked to you. This keeps community grades fair and complete. |
| Donation records | As long as the law requires for financial records, which in the Netherlands is usually seven years. |
| Security logs | Up to 90 days, unless needed to investigate a security incident. |
| Messages to us | Until your question is resolved, and at most one year after that. |
Your data belongs to you. Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
Request a copy of everything we hold about you.
Change anything that is wrong or incomplete.
Have your personal data permanently erased.
Receive your data in a machine-readable file.
Object to how we use your data, or ask us to limit it.
Stop receiving update emails at any time.
Most of this you can do yourself, at any moment, in your account settings: edit your profile, download all your data, or delete your account. For anything else, email [email protected], and we will respond within 30 days.
If you believe we are not handling your data properly, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
We use only the cookies that are strictly necessary for the platform to work, such as keeping you logged in. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies of any kind.
You must be 16 or older to create an account. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we will delete it.
We protect your data with secure connections (HTTPS), passwords stored only as secure hashes that cannot be read or reversed, and strict limits on who can access our systems.
No system is perfectly secure, but if a data breach ever occurs that puts your rights at risk, we will report it to the Dutch Data Protection Authority within 72 hours and inform you without delay.
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with a new date. If the changes are significant, we will also tell you by email or on the platform before they take effect.
