China's Robot Revolution: Mass Production Set to Transform the Globe

China has unveiled ambitious plans for the mass production of humanoid robots that have the potential to be as groundbreaking as the emergence of smartphones. According to a document published by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), humanoid robots are expected to reach an advanced stage of development by 2025, becoming ubiquitous and transforming the world on a scale similar to computers, smartphones, and new electric vehicles.

Chinese company Fourier Intelligence has announced the commencement of mass production of the GR-1 robot by the end of this year. In 2024, the company plans to release thousands of robots capable of moving at a speed of 5 km/h and lifting weights up to 50 kg. This reflects a global trend where many companies worldwide are working on advanced humanoid robots.

In the United States, Agility Robotics is opening a robot factory in Oregon to create hundreds of bipedal robots that mimic human movements. These robots are being tested by Amazon for warehouse automation. Damion Shelton, CEO of Agility Robotics, anticipates slow but steady growth in the utilization of these technologies, with the prospect of their widespread integration in the future.

Tesla is also working on its humanoid robots known as Optimus or Tesla Bot, although, as Elon Musk has noted, they are still far from mass production.

The rapid development of advanced artificial intelligence and its integration with humanoid robots could bring significant progress in this field. Although these technologies are still in the development phase, they have the potential to have a substantial impact on various sectors, from industry to services, opening up new possibilities for innovation and efficiency. In the context of these transformations, China's plans represent a crucial step towards realizing the vision of humanoid robots as key elements of modern technology.
